Everyone has a pretty respectable camera built into their mobile phone, but moving beyond that into “proper” photography can seem pretty daunting and can also appear to be a very expensive prospect. Is it really necessary to spend thousands on the very latest cameras and lenses? What kind of camera should you get? What kind of lenses? And how about all the other stuff you need like tripods and software? For what it’s worth, these are my thoughts and experiences. Some may agree, some will disagree. But at the end of the day it’s about having the right equipment to suit the kinds of photography you want to explore, and at a price that suits your budget.
